Watchlist

Watchlist

The watchlist provides the users with all the data points they need to choose the securities for themselves. The information is presented in succinct manner for a seamless and focused user experience.

Add to list

If you want to search new stocks, type in the name into the search bar. Selecting a stock from the results shown by the search bar will add that stock to your current watchlist.

When you start typing the name of a particular scrip, you get 9 quick filters that allow you to narrow down your search quickly. The 9 filters that you get are:

  1. All
  2. Cash
  3. F&O (Futures and Options)
  4. Indices
  5. Commodity
  6. Currency
  7. ETF
  8. Mutual Fund
  9. US Stock

Furthermore, it is not necessary that you search with the name of the scrip only. For example, if you are looking for options, you can search with “CE” (Call option European) and “2000” and the search bar will show you all the call European options with ₹2000/- as the strike price. Therefore, once you enter a data, any corresponding set of scrips with that data as a part of their description will appear in the search bar.

Watchlist

Once a watchlist is created, you now have a list of chosen assets that you want to work with. Each stock on the list will show the following information:

  1. Asset name
  2. Exchange name
  3. Current market price
  4. Change in price since the closing of trading hours the previous day (both absolute change and percentage change)
In case you own any of the assets being shown on the watchlist, you will also see the briefcase, that you own right beside its name. This facility is, however, available only for the assets whose delivery has been taken by you (i.e. not intraday).

Filter & Sort

If you click on the filter sign (represented by Funnel) on the watchlist, then you will get to a settings page for the watchlist (not the app in general). In this page, you can –

  1. Filter what you see based on the following 4 filters –
    1. Asset Class -e.g. Indian, MF and US Stocks
    2. Price Alert
    3. Sort by

GTT

GTT is a feature that allows the user to set a trigger price, such that if the trigger price is hit at a future date, a limit order will be placed on the exchange as per the limit price and preset conditions. It is valid for 1 year, so anytime the price condition within this period is met, the order will be placed and executed, provided there are enough funds in the trading account and the limit price order is filled on the exchange. This trigger set is valid only once. If the order is placed but not executed for any reason, the GTT has to be placed again. HDFC Sky sends push notifications in the app and emails once the GTT is triggered.
